T Woods is Out and Rory Mcllroy is In

EA has recently announced that Rory Mcllroy will be taking the place of Tiger Woods as the namesake and cover athlete for the newest installment of EA Sports PGA Tour.

“I’m very proud and humbled to see my face and name on EA Sports Rory Mcllroy PGA Tour.” said Mcllroy. “This is a great honor and something I couldn’t even dream of growing up playing the sport. I really hope people enjoy the game and I’m very glad to be apart of it.”

Rory Mcllroy PGA Tour has been built from the ground up using the Frostbite 3 engine (Dragon Age: Inquisition, Battlefield 4, Battlefield Hardline) which has allowed the development team to create new environments and some of the most detailed courses in PGA Tour history. Also you can expect zero load times between holes thanks to the Frostbite Engine and its ability to render entire courses at once (thank you Frostbite)

Not only will we see the most realistic versions of real life courses but we will also get to try our hands at new epic fantasy courses. Back in 2004 they modeled a course off the movie Predator, which featured lush jungles, deep caverns and in my personal opinion it was the hardest course of the game. So im hoping they bring that course and a few others back.

The game is set to launch June 2015 and i couldn’t be more excited. The last few games have been lacking some of the fun components of the early 2000’s games had so im hoping they can bring that back in a big way and truly show that a golf game is worth your hard-earned money.  What is everyone’s thought on Rory Mcllroy taking Tiger Woods place? What are you hoping they add to the game? Let me know your thoughts in the comments DOWN BELOW!!!!!!

I would have to agree with you about the PGA games that have been produced lately, the only game I have been able to sit down and play since probably 06-07 was the 2012masters game. Even that lacked in many areas where the older games excelled. I’m still pretty stoked to see the new engine, graphics, and playability of this game.
